Ways to Maintain Exisitng Study Habits

Having good study habits and being able to maintain them are two different things. Being able to maintain them will benefit you more in the long run. So here are some ways to maintain your existing study habits.

Find a place to study regularly

Having a spot where you feel comfortable and do not have distractions will allow you to study efficiently. It will be good to try out different study environments, such as the library, cafes or areas in school, to know which type of environment suits you and allows you to concentrate the best.

Learn to keep track of deadlines and examination dates

Keep a planner to jot down the due dates for your homework, graded assignments, examinations and other important events. Having a list to keep track of your tasks will allow you to plan your days efficiently and know when to study for which subjects and be ahead of time. This also prevents you from needing to cram your tasks nearer to the deadlines and thus, reduces your stress levels.

Create a supportive environment

A supportive environment is very important as you will not only be more motivated but also learn to help each other. Setting dates and times to sit down and study with your friends will be good for supporting one another in building this habit. Studying together also allows you to ask for help or teach others which in turn will test your content knowledge and improve yourself too.

Reflect

Self-reflection is very important in learning to maintain good habits. It gives you the opportunity to encourage self-awareness and consciousness about what you are practising during your habit-building process. During the process, things may not go as planned. Learning from your mistakes will prevent you from repeating them again in the future and supports a growth mindset. A growth mindset empowers you to believe that you can do it and slowly develop and explore your abilities, which is a key to success.

Celebrate small wins

Celebrating small wins will motivate you to try to achieve something bigger. It will not only reduce the chances of slipping back into your old habits but also push you forward and encourage you to incorporate good habits into your everyday activities. Creating a reward system will stimulate you to work harder too and allow you to achieve better results during the process.

Hope these tips help!
