⚡ LEARNING MATH IN 2D AND 3D PERPSPECTIVES.
Learning and understanding math concepts beyond memorization.
Encourage students to talk, think, reason and create a sense of curiosity as they move through problems.
EXPERIMENT 3D TOWER
Materials
- 1 box of toothpicks
- 20-30 styrofoam balls
Procedure
- Create 2 dimensional shapes of different numbers of squares by connecting toothpicks and the balls.
- Follow the steps in the question to draw the patterns in the worksheet.
- To understand the pattern and find out the 4 th and 5 th pattern.
- Create a 3 dimensional tower using as many
toothpicks and balls with great balance.
WHAT YOU’VE LEARNT
2 dimensional shape
You will learn that It would be quicker to tabulate. The table helps with analysis and for us to see a pattern. You may fill in more rows/columns to better help you identify a pattern.
3 dimensional shape
You will learn that for a tower to stand tall and firm without easily breaking, having a strong base and smaller top surface is important.
